BELOTERO BALANCE + LIDOCAINE

Description

Belotero® Balance + Lidocaine by Merz Aesthetics – an injectable cross-linked Hyaluronic acid (BDDE) dermal filler incorporating (anaesthetic) Lidocaine pain-relief to minimise discomfort during treatment.

Intended for mid to deep dermis implantation and specifically designed and formulated to smooth and correct moderate to severe facial lines and creases and to add volume / rejuvenate depressed lip and mid-facial areas.

Belotero® Balance + Lidocaine by Merz Aesthetics – a sterile, viscoelastic, (clear) gel-based, cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler designed for subcutaneous to supraperiosteal implantation to smooth and correct moderate to severe facial lines and furrows – specifically nasolabial folds; glabellar, periorbital and marionette lines; minimising atrophic facial cicatrices as well as for lip augmentation.

Incorporating lidocaine to reduce patient’s discomfort during treatment, Belotero® Balance’s bio-resorbable, non-pyrogenic formula is bacterially fermented from streptococcal cultures (BDDE crosslinked), stabilised and suspended in phosphate-buffered saline to produce a highly biocompatible dermal filler with rapid filler-tissue integration.

Effects: improved skin hydration, elasticity, fullness – a brighter, more radiant, naturally youthful appearance whilst maintaining natural facial expression.

Instant results lasting for 6 to 9 months – shorter or longer depending on individual factors – i.e. gene profile, age, lifestyle and environmental factors.

Composition

• BDDE cross-linked Sodium Hyaluronic acid 22.5 mg/mL
• Lidocaine hydrochloride 3 mg/mL
• Phosphate buffered saline pH 7 qs ad 1 mL
• Disposable 1 mL syringe (glass)
• 1 x 27G (TW) Thin Wall needle + 1 x 30G (TW) Thin Wall needle

Belotero® Balance + Lidocaine contains trace amounts of gram-positive bacterial proteins.

Precautions

The Belotero® Balance (with Lidocaine) product is indicated for patients over the age of 21 years.

Important treatment considerations for those with severe allergies and history of severe reactions (anaphylaxis) and those with allergies to the anaesthetic, Lidocaine.

Additional considerations: skin sores, rashes, cysts, hives and pimples; pregnancy & breastfeeding; bleeding disorders (re: injection site); scarring, skin-pigmentation disorders and the use of Belotero® Balance + Lidocaine in conjunction with other skin therapies e.g. laser treatment, chemical peels, etc.

Treatment may result in some mild to moderate swelling, itchiness, bruising and / or tenderness which normally dissipates over a 24 to 48 hour period dependent on the sensitivity of injection site.

Should temporary swelling, soreness and / or itching at the injection site occur, an ice-pack applied for relief is recommended.
Seek immediate medical attention should symptoms persist.

In the rare event Belotero® Balance + Lidocaine is injected intravascularly – seek immediate medical attention.
Complications may be serious and permanent and may cause scarring; damage to underlying facial structures; skin necrosis; stroke; vision abnormalities and impairment.

Due to normal skin-sensitivity following dermal filler treatment – strenuous activity should be avoided for at least 24 hrs and sun / heat exposure for at least one week.
Alcohol consumption should also be avoided for a minimum 24 hours following treatment as alcohol (acting as a blood-thinner) can cause blood vessels to dilate, leading to increased swelling and bruising.
